Providing feeding relief to vulnerable people in the communities.

The leading seasoning brand in partnership with Lagos State has been visiting wards across the state to deliver nutritious and balanced meals. Residents of the State’s largest local government, Alimosho is it’s latest beneficiaries. Over the past few weeks, the brand has been providing a nutritious meal for not less than a 1000 people daily which reinforces the brand’s belief that nutritious food should be within everyone’s reach.

Speaking at the Alimosho outreach, the Brand Lead Knorr, Oyinade Ladapo reiterated on the primary objective of the feeding program by Knorr and commended the Lagos state government for its response to the program “Knorr’s purpose is to champion better ways to cook and eat for a more sustainable food future. We understand that in this trying time, people in these communities are struggling to make ends meet and find it difficult to afford daily square meals.”

Ladapo further spoke on the reception of the initiative by residents of the local governments which has been extremely positive and overwhelming…” We are looking at how to scale up from these 36 local government wards to the rest of the country and our partnership with the state has been very insightful as we continue to drive awareness of benefits and a balanced and nutritious diet” she said.

Present at the outreach was the Chairman of Alimosho Local Government, Honorable Adelumola Okubule, who expressed his gratitude on behalf of the community. “This is an amazing demonstration of social service responsibility by Knorr Nigeria and I really want to thank them. Given the quality of nutritious meals I have seen served, I am glad that these recipients have smiles on their faces and food in their bellies.”

As part of the Knorr Sustainable Living Plan, there is a global target for 75% of its products to meet salt levels that enable intakes of a maximum of 5 grams per day. Knorr’s aim is to double the proportion of its portfolio that meets the highest nutrition standards, based on globally recognised dietary guidelines.
